Xixi Li

He is the first-year Ph.D. student in Statistics at The University of Manchester, supervised by Dr. Jingsong Yuan and Dr. Georgi Boshnakov. Luckily, he is funded by the Dean's Scholarship Award. Prior to that, he obtained his Master's and Bachelor's degree from Beihang University under the supervision of distinguished Prof Suling Jia, Prof Qiang Wang and Prof Yanfei Kang. His research interests lie in the area of time series forecasting, machine learning, and text mining.

He likes to solve general data science problems from three different perspectives: theory, computation, and application. His current research focuses on statistical time series forecasting with advanced deep learning. He likes to communicate and collaborate with people in different areas. Before joining in UoM, his research focused on time series forecasting based on multi-source heterogeneous data, such as text and image-based forecasting. Also, he has worked as a project manager in some big data projects. As a return, he has accumulated some experience in enterprise big data projects and successfully used machine learning to empower business management decisions.
